Pflugerville, Texas, United States, is located in Travis County. A small part of Williamson County is also included. At the 2020 census, there were 61,737 people. Pflugerville, a suburb of Austin, is part of the Austin Round Rock-San Marcos Metropolitan Statistical Area. Pfluger, which means “plowman,” was the name of the original German settlers that cultivated the area.
The total area of the city is 22.32 sq. miles, according to the 2010 United States Census Bureau. The extraterritorial jurisdiction covers 40.39 sq. miles. One body of water is Lake Pflugerville. The Great Depression saw a decrease in the population of Pflugerville, and people moved to larger cities to find work.
A town meeting was held in late 1957 to discuss incorporating Pflugerville. On July 24, 1965, an election was held. With a total of 60 votes to 40, Pflugerville became a city.
In 1980, the city established the Pflugerville Pflag newspaper. Pflugerville was named the fastest-growing state community in the 1980s.
Since then, Pflugerville’s wonderful community and popularity have drawn residents from all parts of the state to it. It is home to 56,893 people and a great community for families.
Typhoon Texas Waterpark Austin: Typhoon Texas Waterpark is a 23-acre park that offers fun for all ages. A giant wave pool and a 10,000-square-foot play area are some highlights. The park features a giant wave pool, a 1000 ft. long lazy river, several multi-slide towers with speed slides, tube slides, and a six-lane mat-racer slide. The new gully washer is a playground for children with seven slides and more than 100 spray zones. There’s also a splash pad playground with a huge, 800-gallon water bucket to drench the entire area.
Lake Pflugerville: Lake Pflugerville is located in Pflugerville, Texas, United States. The 180-acre reservoir was constructed in 2005. It was completed in 2006. Pumps are used for water flow from the reservoir to the lower Colorado River via a 16-mile pipeline. Its purpose is to supply water to the residents of the area.
The reservoir is also home to recreational activities. You can rent kayaks, have picnic areas and even have a beach. There are three miles (4.8km) of granite hiking, bike trail, and fishing piers. The reservoir is adjacent to Lake Pflugerville Park. It was completed in 2010.
Falcon Pointe Splash Park: The Falcon Pointe Splash Park can be found in the Falcon Pointe neighborhood. It is open from May to October. A large button triggers the spray, which lasts approximately 90 seconds. A nearby playground is a great place for children to splash, press the button, and play. There is no lifeguard available. Please keep your children safe.
Mills Pond Recreation Area: Mills Pond can be found at the north end on Wells Port Dr. or from Bratton Ln. Through the Lakes at Wells Branch subdivision. The pond is situated in the heart of Wells Branch and offers easy access to trails for running, walking, and biking. There is a floating boat dock and a fishing pier at the pond. All non-motorized vessels are welcome.
Mills Pond is a great place to relax and get some fresh air. You might even find a fishing hook. A community fishing pond is subject to all Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations. The pond is home to birds, ducks, cranes, and squirrels. Dogs are also welcomed at the park, but they must be kept on a leash.
Pepper Rock Park: Pepper Rock Park is a pocket park covering nearly 5 acres in the Meadows Subdivision. It features playground equipment, picnic tables, benches, a barbecue grill, a basketball court, and a baseball field.
